OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
December 29, 2025, Harvard, IL—The newly formed Board of Directors of WHIW, Harvard Broadcasting, Inc. (101.3 FM Harvard Community Radio) wishes to extend our profound gratitude and sincere appreciation to Bob and Jan Hammersmith for their exceptional philanthropy and dedicated on-air involvement at Harvard Community Radio
As proud supporters of community radio in Harvard, Bob and Jan Hammersmith have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to keeping local voices on the air through their generous contributions and active participation in station operations. Their philanthropic support has been instrumental in sustaining WHIW’s mission as an all-volunteer, nonprofit community station that relies on the generosity of donors and underwriters to serve the Harvard area.
Beyond their financial contributions, Bob and Jan have been actively involved in on-air programming, bringing their passion for community radio to our listeners and embodying the spirit of volunteerism that defines WHIW.
