HARVARD, IL – November 14, 2025 – Harvard Community Radio (WHIW-LP 101.3 FM) is pleased to announce significant leadership changes following a board meeting held on November 13, 2025. The station’s membership has selected a new slate of directors and appointed Sarah Flashing Clow as Interim Board President.
The transition comes as the all-volunteer, nonprofit radio station continues to serve the Harvard community, recently celebrating its 10th anniversary on air in May 2025. The station, known for its local programming including talk shows, music programs, news and high school sports coverage is undergoing this leadership restructuring to strengthen its community outreach and operational capabilities.
Sarah Flashing Clow brings extensive nonprofit and communications experience to her new role as Interim Board President. Currently serving as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at The Foundation for Northwest Illinois, Ms. Flashing Clow previously served on the WHIW Board of Directors a decade ago. She has deep connections to the Harvard community and brings valuable expertise in community engagement and organizational development.
“We are excited about this new direction for Harvard Community Radio,” said Flashing Clow. “My appointment to this role will help us continue our mission of providing quality local programming while strengthening our connections throughout Harvard and McHenry County.”
The complete slate of new directors will be formally announced in the coming days, marking an exciting new chapter for Harvard’s beloved community radio station. This leadership transition aims to build upon the station’s decade of service while enhancing its ability to serve as a vital community resource.
